I have three Ipals and one of the Radio One. I love the fact that is has a solid sound. A little more natural bass. Not the thumping kind...just natural. I can't stand to listen to music on my punny phone speaker or any other tin can speaker. This is the best I have found. They are not terribly loud....more of "just right" for a bedroom, office desk, bathroom....Don't expect to put this in a large room, garage, outside, etc, and get booming sound....that is not what these are for. I think the name. i-pal is perfect...it is for you to listen to....maybe a feet or two away. I love to listen to a book, podcast, etc while sitting on the back porch having coffee in the morning, or while sitting at my desk working. It is as good as any i have found. Not an audiophile type person....but I am a musician and have had high end home sound systems in the past. I do care about my music....mainly not souding like a cheap sound....when I travel I take my ipal with me....everywhere.....it really is that good. Having only one speaker is not a problem based on what it's intended purpose is for.

We are very happy with the PAL BT. The sound it produces is clear, precise and pleasant. The size is really perfect for travel and it fits nicely in our small living room area. An unexpected pleasure is using the FM radio with is analog dial. Turning it to find a station and then fine tune the connection is very satisfying. Almost as soon as we received it we left on a trip to southern Massachusetts and enjoyed picking up stations from Boston and Cape Cod. The BT works flawlessly and sounds much better with music than I had expected from something this size. We are very happy we chose the PAL BT and recommend it.

Tivoli PAL user since 2003 This is my 3rd PAL radio But first with Blue tooth. I bought the new BT PAL to make it easier to pair with my iPhone (no mini stereo jack), since I mainly use it for at work to go from my desk to my workbench. I also have an old Tivoli Song book (love it) i use as my garage Radio, and My 1st PAL (no BT) got demoted to my portable out door radio.

If your lucky you may find a portable BT speaker system with FM radio but to find a good one with AM as well, its not gonna happen.

The Tivoli Pal's simplicity, portability, reception, battery life, and sound (even with just the one speaker) are more than enough, for a whole days worth of use. I usually go 2 to 3 days between charges.

If I was to loose this radio, I would find it necessary to replace it
