In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Tivoli Audio is celebrating stories of strength, creativity, and the power of finding your voice. This month, we spoke with Robin Allison Davis, author of Surviving Paris - a moving memoir about rebuilding life abroad while facing breast cancer not once, but twice.
An Emmy Award-winning journalist and producer, Robin left New York City to pursue a dream of living in Paris. But when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in a foreign country - twice between 2018 and 2020 - her story become one of survival, identity, and self-rediscovery.
“Writing Surviving Paris was both healing and heavy,” she wrote. “There were days I typed through tears. But I wanted to tell the truth - to show that even in fear and uncertainty, there’s beauty in strength.”
Through vulnerability and honesty, Robin invites readers to see that survival is not just about overcoming illness - it is about choosing to live fully, with courage and grace. “Even in your darkest days,” she says, “you can still create something beautiful.”
At Tivoli Audio, we’re inspired by stories like Robin’s - ones that remind us to keep going, keep creating, and keep listening.
Whether it’s through music, storytelling, or community, we believe in the power of sound to connect and heal.
